SPECIAL NOTES --- Remember that even nonlimited foods should be used in moderation. Be sure to avoid animal fats and marbled meats. On a triglyceride-lowering diet, be sure to avoid sweets and control the amount of carbohydrates you eat (starchy foods, such as flour, bread, potatoes). If you are just trying to maintain your cholesterol level, as I am, you may want to try some of the foods I eat, such as:

For breakfast I have either my mixture of oatmeal, flaxseed, wheat germ and sunflower seeds, or I make eggs whites w/veggie cheese (it has a soy base 2 grams fat, 0 cholesterol, 0 trans fat, it tastes pretty good, and comes in assorted flavors). I buy the container of egg whites, it's easier. Along with that I have a toasted english muffin.

My snacks include pretzels or popcorn. Each day I usually indulge in 2 squares (1 1/2" X 1 1/2")of Hersheys or Ghirardelli chocolate (high cocoa content, at least 65%).The higher the cocoa content the better.

Monday thru Friday, for dinner, I will normally make chicken, fish, pork, or pasta. Remember, I cook with extra virgin olive oil, and if a recipe calls for butter, or I put it on vegetables, I use "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter." Stay away from cheese and eat red meat in moderation. If it's gonna be a steak, get a good cut with no marbleing.

A FINAL REMINDER - "STAY AWAY FROM THE CHEESEBURGERS, FRIES, AND SODAS. THINGS GO BETTER WITH COKE, EXCEPT YOUR CHOLESTEROL."
